Looking to ride this week and was wondering how the trail conditions are in the Rome area? Where can I drop off in Rome? I know the Hill has got snow but the Rome area is closer for me and I would rather ride my sled than my truck.... Let me know and Thanks.

Should be ok by the weekend. Picked up a little last night and the forecast is for another 4-8 tonight. Temps are looking cooler for the later half of the week. Just 10 miles north of Rome there is good snow. Not sure where you can park a trailer though. If I find any info I'll update. - Jeff

The Erie Canal Trail from State Bridge to New London has a few thin spots in the middle of the trail, but it should be groomed by Wednesday night. From New London to Rome was groomed already and is BEAUTIFUL!! The RR tracks behind TA Roman's in W. Rome to Taberg are fast and smooth too, that trail could never be better than it is right now. The trail from TA's to The Colonial is rideable and is groomed. Needs more snow, the sleds have ridden most of it off!! It will be groomed again tomorrow though.
I just rode from The Beeches to W. Rome, Taberg, Empeyville, Osceola, Highmarket, and back. The Taberg trails were a bit thin and a little bumpy, but bearable. The rest was absolutely great!! Too bad it's March already and this is my first ride to those areas this year. We do need more snow to make the trails even better.
www.westromeriders.com is the local club's new website. It is still under construction though.
