I know the Indy 500 motor has pretty much stayed the same over the years, but the CDI part #s have changed. Is there any year that has a more agressive curve or is overall a better box? Thanks for any info.

I think if you look through the MRM's, even if the part #'s changed, more than likely the timing specs. didn't. There may be some small changes and some aren't even interchangeable due to different connectors. Also pay attention to the #'s on the flywheels. Some were also on 500 fuelies.

Do the fuelies have a more agressive curve than the carbed? Is it possibile to run a efi flywheel and CDI on a carb? Im in a racing class were we are limited to stock parts and was wondering if there was any advantage. Thanks for the help

I seem to remember the early 500's gained some drag performance from running a CDI from a 488 Trail fan cooled, but don't have any more info
