Just got home from an 800 mile ride in Western U.P. If people would also slow down when passing opposing traffic, this may help. I must have had dozens of sleds pass that I felt were on the edge of out of control, because they are concerned about the amount of sleds in their group that I have not passed. Please Do Not put up your left hand if you cannot control the sled you are riding!!!! stirthepot.gif

I've learned my lesson - blew threw a corner a few weeks ago - totally my fault "too fast and showing off"... Totalled my sled. Next week I took my wifes F7 and I kept her under control and had just as much fun.

As one of my riding partners told me and it sunk in...."There is no trophy or Prize money at the next stop sign, why risk it?"

I think about the damage I could have caused my family or the person's family I hit....

Be safe!

We were in the UP last weekend and to my surprise most groups slowed down to pass, still a few that felt they to pass as fast as they could. Sad part they are using up 65% of the trail doing it, what If I wanted to use my 40% of the trail? Dont add up.

i am right there with ya. i was riding up by grayling and fredric this weekend and alot of the sleds that we passed were going way to fast and trying to hold up there hand to let you know how many are behind them and almost losing it. i had my girlfriend and my father behind me and they almost got hit by some asshole that doesnt know how to handle his sled. there was also the ones that dont even hold up there hand. and while we in grayling on the trail next to I75 some asshole gets on my side of the trail and never even thought about getting back over so i had to ride the middle cause the rest of his dumbass friends were on the right side were they should of been. if you dont know how to follow some guide lines people do some of us a faver sell your sled before you hurt someone.

Spent the weekend riding throughout Grayling as well. Saw allot of things out on the trail.

1st was a train of woman wearing orange vests riding for charity. :div20:

2nd was beagle1, oops, I mean a beagle running free down trail 76 north of m-72. He like to chase sleds and almost saw the underside of mine dunno.gif

3rd was a white chevy caprice on trail 79 parked sideways blocking the whole trail and about 10 sledders trying to get this guy unstuck and out of the way. :frech32:

4th was a herd of dear on one of the tank tracks back in the camp :div20:

and the worst thing we saw was the aftermath of an accident between a girl riding a 440Cat and a few trees in a corner. This happened about 500ft off of m-72 on trail 76 on saturday around 9:30 -10am. She was in the back of the ambulance at the gas station, conscious and breathing on her own thank goodness. The entire rescue crew was at the station and they wisked her away to the hospital. I hope everything worked out for her and the rest of the group she was with. They were all pretty shook up.

Just wondered.... was there a full moon on Friday???

Hey...WATCH IT! :smilielol:

FWIW, I had a Basset Hound trying the same thing in Rexton 3 weeks ago?

From the looks of all the reports on various forums about this weekend...It was a good one to stay home. Think about how many fewer sleds will be on the trails next weekend with all the carnage that ensued dunno.gif

The ones are feel sorry for are the victims, like the guy in here that had a 50 year old on the WRONG SIDE OF THE TRAIL coming over a hill. His sled is screwed and it wasn't his fault.

Good for you...been there done that and don't regret slowing down at all. Life is too short to kill yourself or someone else because you felt it important to show off.

Wish more people would do the same. :div20:

For us non-residents, the news usually reports by county, i.e. Roscommon county... not the city. :div20:

I was pretty wild on the north east side of the state also. And yes it was a full moon on friday night.
