We were planing on going to park rapids this weekend. How much snow is up their now? Thanks
pbro
Last weekend was great . By Sunday though the trails were turning brown and rocks were popping through. Hopefully enough snow for the groomer to grab and redistribute. The woods should be fine but we definately need more snow. Im leaving in 2 hours to give it another try up there. To answer your question there was probably 5-8 inches on the ground. Good Luck PS. The snowmobile clubs dance is at the Eagles on sat night, should be a good time!

I was there last weekend too. Ate at the Royal. I hope it survives the heat wave. let me know how it is I'll be heading up the 10-12 for eelpout fest.

Stopped at the Royal on the way up. Pulled a 200 dollar pulltab. Made the weekend alot more fun. FYI Sat morning we went from Lake George to Becida on fresshly groomed trail. It was awesome.

Put on 130 last saturday with my daughter in front of me. Trails in Itasca Park were bumpy and breaking down fast, lots of snirt and a growing amount of bare patches. The forest roads were holding up remarkably well. if you can plan a route on them it is at least ridable.

thank you.

Did Park Rapids get any snow last night?

From Nevis area-

Updated: February 1, 2006
Base: Varies
Condition: 2-4" New Snow!

Last night we got 2-4" of new snow!! This was much needed snow, as we had unseasonably warm temperatures last week. The new snow will allow grooming operations to start again, and will make for a good week and into the weekend of good riding. Remember, corners and some sections of trails are still very icy under this new snow. Lets hope for this snow pattern to continue on thru February!

Updated: February 5, 2006
Base: Varies
Condition: Good Riding Continues

The snow that melted and refroze last weekend is serving as an excellent base for the 4" of new snow that we got late last week. Riding was great this weekend, and the entire system will be groomed this week. It should be another good week and weekend of riding! Remember, corners and some sections of trails are still very icy under this new snow, and some sections of the Heartland Trail don't have much of a base so take it easy and keep the new snow on the trail! Lets hope for this snow pattern to continue on thru February!

Yep conditions were fine. We rode almost 250 on Saturday. Park Rapids to Walker to Becida and back. The Paul Bunyan Forest was great and trail up at Becida were even better.

I'm heading up to Walker Thur. :beerchug:
