Snowmobile Trail Condition Updates

Thursday, January 26, 2006.

The temperature on the mountain is 16 degrees and snowing. Great news!! Eleven inches of new snow fell yesterday on top of the Eight we got earlier in the week. Trails were groomed Tuesday and are in excellent condition. Please ride with care. Groomers can be out at any hour. The Charity Hot Dog Roast will be held on February 4th at Airport Road in Somerset. Support this worthy cause and have lots of good food and fun.

shhh, its true ,

They were grooming Friday night, but it was very crowded and there was an excess of dummies ripping the trails to shreds.
The northern trails were all icy in the corners,
The trails south of Twin Brooks hadn't been groomed and were very bumpy, they should be nice when they groom them.

Snobusters are saying they got 8" last night

We got in 92 miles yesterday just north of Twin Brooks. Thank God--thought I was going to bust with frustration from lack of riding. 7A was quite good as was 7 except south of the power lines. There is a bleeping stream open--far beyond "water bar". 100 towards Wilmington was very thin and melting by the minute. Took some side trails to parking areas that were actually great. North of Grout Pond was not groomed and was beat to hell. We heard north of Jenks was groomed and great up to Mt. Tabor. Too bad that connecting stretch to Jenks was such a mess.

Only saw about 20 or so sleds the whole day, including 3 guys on yellow Ski Doos. The lead rider was riding in the middle of the trail and was *very* slow moving over. He went past me within inches.

Looks like things everywhere are shot to hell again. Woodford melted like mad yesterday. We could see changes in a very short period of time. They need cold temps, desperately, and of course snow.

Did, or did they not, get 8" of snow last night?

Here is their latest:

Friday, February 03, 2006.

The temperature on the mountain is 34 degrees and raining. Trails are in poor condition with open water and exposed rocks. The Charity Hot Dog Roast scheduled for this Saturday February 4th has been cancelled due to the weather. Think Snow and Cold and have a nice day.

I was planning on going up Monday since I heard there may be a big snow dump. No more snow dunno.gif
