we are supposed to head up for a club trip but a friend drove thru the area and said if 6 inches or more doesn't fall he would stay home or go elsewhere, is it that bad? the trip is for this thursday thru sunday, love the area but haven't been up there for a couple years cause of the snow conditions. Having kids makes it tuff to chase snow as most of you know.

XCR1250 or others, tell me about riding on the flowage. How much riding is available on it? Is it something where you can spend a day goofing around on it? Or is it round and round in the same place which gets boring in an hour or so.

Thanks much.

that is what I figured, but it sounds like we are going to give it a try cause a couple of the guys don't want to go to deep snow in cooke city for some reason lol. I guess I now have to decide whether to bring a sled with studs or withoout. I have a f7 std that has no studs and a zr9 with studs, sounds like we will be doing alot of riding on the flowage so some racin may take place, might have to bring both I guess. Hate to grind off 10 in carbides and 192 studs lol

You can ride anywhere easily on the marked trails, it's great, it's a vast wilderness lake, with 35,000 acres of area, and 17,000 acres of frozen surface, and snowing right now at 2:00 AM, the "Chip" is flat and fast too, many pit stops and miles of trails on it, the fire lanes are also good, with most trails in fair to good condition, with a 3-5 inch hardpack base, come up, stop on 5 and 21 at Louies Landing.

XCR 1250.......Do you live close to Louie's? Our cabin is down by Winter. Is the Tuscobia and trail 5 rideable to get up to Louie's and the forest roads?

I heard 5 was all torn up by logging.

Ashland is pretty much grass too, as of yesterday. There were a few sleds out on the bay.

You must be the guy that Roger talked about and cleared the drag strip on the lake last year while we were up there. Stayed in one of their cabins there a few days last winter. Had a large enclosed trailer with Arctic Cat on the side. We just bought our cabin last summer. It's southeast of Winter down past the Rustic Inn. Will keep you in mind for repairs and parts when we are up there.
