a lot of the existing snow will be gone by the time snow gets here. we'll need a foot at the very least to get the trails back in decent condition.

I hate to be the king of optimism...because I really do have a grasp on reality, but if we get the cold air just a couple hours earlier, it will make a big difference...check out zone A.

What we really need after the rain finally stops is for the ground water and brooks to recede, cold weather to freeze those areas and then a dumping of snow. The trails are slush now and the kids are making a mess out of them by riding hard today.

Trails are destroyed. Anything that is near a river is probably under water. The trail out of the Lynburke is under 3 feet of water. The rivers have gone over flood stage. Any trails that had open water on them have to be rivers now. You can get 2 feet of snow right now and it wouldn't make a difference, not with the runoff. It would take 10 nights of below zero to freeze this stuff up and the same type of storm will be coming in on Tuesday and Wednesday with more rain. I'm actually starting to think that we will be completely done for January and we will be lucky to be riding in February.
All snow here in Lyndonville now. What a waste.
