anyone ever run these cages??
zr sled head
No idea about them specifically but I will tell you all of the aftermarket offerings provide little to no gains and in the case of my former ZR 800carb I had issues when running Rad Valves.
Real gains are in clutching.
truflite800
what issues??
zr sled head
Made the engine jet prone in warmer temps plus I saw zero performance gains..............zero bang for the bucks spent.

If you want to go fast put your money into clutching. The 1-2 possible hp gained from reeds will do nithing compared to a good clutch kit or clutch tuning.
truflite800
got a dd kit, wasn't overly impressed so just got a cpr kit.. i guess i'll see what the diff. is if there is 1
kawicat
Let us know if there is a difference between the two.

If you are talking about the Hurricane Reeds don't get em, get V-Force IIIs. I have a set sitting in front of me that are falling apart after one year of running em.

that doesn't sound too good.. bad reeds or did something eat them up?

We believe bad reeds...they are just discintegrating at the top of the pedals on both reeds.

What would eat them up exactly?
kawicat
Those use fiberglass reeds don't they? Maybe the resin dissolves in gas? dunno.gif
truflite800
i thought the guy at lencco said they were carbon fiber this year.

Lencco uses carbonfiber. Reed flutter is what eats reeds..
truflite800
just have to keep the old girl wide open to avoid all the flutter

Well, whatever it was they didn't look pretty and after only 1400 miles...most of it, and I am not joking at all, was at WOT on Back Lake in NH so believe me...if running it wide open is good for the reeds I have to really wonder about the quality of these or if they were used or something...which I really hope was not the case.
