Here is a buck I got on cam before the gun season and then just a few days ago.
This deer is in bad shape as you see his ribs are starting to show and he's lost alot of weight... It looks like he has 2 holes, one from a broadhead and one from a gun. We were seeing him on a regular basis in Oct and early Nov., then he vanished for a month and just showed up again.
Think this deer will make it through the season?

During the rut, bucks usally don't eat alot. They use their energy in search of breeding does.
Now if infection doesn't set in the shoulder wound, I think he will make it

That sucks.... Hopefully he got his sex on before he got wounded to he can pass his genes along. I don't think he'll be around come spring time...........

also appears to be a wound in his back, right where it seems to make that unnatural bend.
Gotta wonder if food falls out of that hole in his neck when he tries to eat?
Definatly not trophy material right now, but if given the chance, you should put
it out of its misery!

I think he'll be fine. The shoulder wound is in the shoulder blade. Probably a arrow that didn't penetrate. The neck wound is tissue only. It didn't even hit muscle. I shot a monster buck right THROUGH the center of the neck this season (bow). He bled like CRAZY for 150 yards and lived. A buddy saw him out shredding trees and chasing does 5 days later. BIG BUCKS DIE TOUGH!

most likely dead by now I would say, possibly fell prey to coyotes or other.
