I just picked up my first sled a few weeks ago. 1998 Yamaha Mountain Max 600 twin. I had a blast, and I'm going through it and learning a lot.

Another satisfied Yamaha mountain sled owner. Bought a left over 05' Vector Mountain about 2 months ago. Had it out three times and have about 250 miles on it so far. Finally did some boondocking in about 3-4' of snow in the cascades. Very cool! It was climbing like crazy. Did get stuck once but I figure that's kind of like paying my "mountain " dues...... Love the motor and torque. I got literally twice the fuel mileage of the Polaris and Ski Doo I was riding with. :tease:

Hey Yammy fans
I just picked up a 2000 Mountain Max 700 triple
and could not be happier. Its my first real sled
and surprised me by the power its got. Its more
than enough machine for me.

Mine started as a 02 MM, not sure what to call it now. Several in my group ride Yammy and brought me over off from Poo. Here is a pic from yesterday.....

Very impressed with this sled. From powder, to climbing, to fuel economy and comfort
And my wifes ZL in the background

Wow,looks awesome-is the exhaust cooled in the tunnel? I would think the tank would be seeing some high temps strapped to the back of the sled right there!

I don't get your comment? But I would assume you were replying to my post. That is not a gas can. It is a lunch box. I don't think I would mount a gas can on the back and after that ride I won't put anything back there because it gets tossed off to easily. Bad design by Yamaha due to the lack of tie down points which equal vertually zero except the back bar.

Ha,ok I see its an opened lunchbox now,it looked like a gas can originally, that was strapped down with the yellow straps.Im sure they left the hooks off intentionally back there, its gotta get pretty hot back there.

I was looking around and am having trouble seeing the differences between, The Mountain Apex SE and the standard edition? Color and a Shock upgrade appear to be the only difference? Anybody have something else? Thank you

Some light weight parts but they only lose about three ttal pounds, not wirth an extra 800 or whatever dollars.

the only difference is the SE has Fox floats, the standard Mnt. doesn't, BUT you can titanium springs on it to loose the same amount of weight for around 300.00 from MPI and get the benefit of a better ride!

If your in the market, " Outlaw motorsports Inc." located in Enterprise Oregon, has the 07' Mnt.Apex for $9910.00 with $300.00 customer cash, or $9610.00 with know customer cash, that's out the door !!!! You won't beat it anywhere! Costs about 300.00 to barge up to Alaska so it couldn't be to much more to you. They'll work with you on what ever it takes to get the sale, know matter where your from, awesome bunch of guys!!! They can build it anyway you like as well and make it a package deal from the dealer so you can finance the extra's too if you'd like, one of the best mod shops on the west coast if not the best!
