I was thinking about building a hot rod 06' Tundra for Bush Bashing. The biggest mod would be in weight reduction, and perhaps add a big bore kit or gear reduction for more torque. As much as I love touring and trail riding 'Bush Bashing' (flat land boondocking) is a hoot with a few buds. The goal would be to end up with a sled that weighs in at 280-300 lbs and get as much torque and h.p. as possible to up the performace. I think with the new Rev style chassis and low weight of the Tundra along with the RER, would be a good starting point. Let me know what you think. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I think it would be a great sled. However, I don't think dropping 50-70 lbs is realistic. I know guys who put a lot of effort into weight reduction on mountain sleds, and it just ain't gonna happen. You might save 5 lbs with a modified seat. A few pounds if you make up some kind of lightweight canister. And what else? Just live with the weight. 370-375 is very light, and with the 32" stance it is going to feel extremely light. Personally I think I'd get the 136" Tundra and just leave it stock.

Trying to get more HP out of a fan motor is another pain. You'd be way better off just shoving a bigger fan motor in there. Well, those are my opinions. :div20:

I just went to the Tundra page on the Doo site. They have a neat little video that shows the sled in action.

bought a new Tundra Saturday for the kids etc.. What a hoot. It is a lot of fun to play on. Kinda like snow trials riding !!!! I would love to add just a little more power. Can I plane the head a little and run better gas. Bore and stroke, porting, nos ??? What can a little fan take without sacrificing reliability. I too will leave it stock before I will screw it up. It reminds me of old Elans and Olympiques. It is noisy but willing and very nimble. 45 max on the gps. I cannot wait to try it in deep snow.....
