I want to gain some power in acceleration. What is the best thing to do? Get SLP twin pipes? Clutch? I have a hold clutch setup that I want to do, but I don't have the tools... Are the tools expensive? This is for my 01 XC 800

dont really need to do a ton to these to make them run. stock clutching sucks on that sled. run 10-66 weights, 150-310 primary spring, stock helix and use a polaris silv-blu or equiv spring. all this can be changed with basic tools. but you will need snap ring pliers for the secondary. what do you have for traction? if nothing...then motor mods wont do squat IMO. you could put in 440 main jets and be safe a well. that would help fuel ecomony some.

hot seat 54/36S helix, 10-66, almond/blue, blue/orange #2, or if geared down, silver/blue #3. Some can pull more weight, 10-68.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I am geared down one tooth. So you only need to have special tools for the helix? What are snap ring pliers?

snap ring pliers are a special tool that removes the snap ring(which is what holds the helix from flying off. they look like a set of pliers that come to a very sharp point. those points fit into the groove on the snap ring and lock in place. most auto parts stores should have them. when you remove that ring, make sure you push down on the helix first to take pressure off the ring. if you dont, you will probably hurt yourself.
