Yes, we tried. They could not contact the vehicle.

My guess is that the people doing this know to hack the antenna off the vehicle as one of the first things they do.

No need to remove the antenna just cover it with the same material as the ez-pass pouch. A friend of mine had his Escalade stolen 2 years ago in Montreal, the locals told him the truck probably ended up at the ports and loaded into a sea container before they had a chance to report the truck stolen. I hope your insurance company covers your vehicle if stolen outside the USA. I know he had a difficult time, but because he owns a business with several vehicles and equipment they covered him. They did at first tell him he was to notify them if the vehicle was going to leave the US into Canada, a special form was to be filled out covering his vehicle and vehicle contents.

That is 100% correct. My ins. company knows I go to CA for fishing and work so every year they have me fill out this other little form so that I am covered in CA. They said without it I am out of luck on replacement and I could be holding the bag on any accident I might cause as well. For the 60 sec. it takes to fill out a free form it's worth it. Doug

I also have state farm. Do they require the form to be filled out when going to Canada?

I too have State Farm. I didnt know about the form. Every year I tell the girl to send me a Canada "Inter provence' insurance card fro my sled. And she does it every year. You would think being that I have everything insured with them that the girl would say..."Do you take the truck to Canada too, as we have his form?" Never says a word about it. I will have to call them on this now.
what?trail?
all they do is pull the glovebox and unplug the onstar transmitter/reciever - i see them in the bodyshop all the time - so much for onstar stopping the car thiefs - friggin canada is out of hand - you couldnt pay me to ride there
