Here is a preliminary grooming report from 12-19-05. This report was put together from discussions with our groomers. Trail conditions are marginal to good and early season conditions such as open waterbars, downed trees and hidden hazzards such as rocks and stumps do exist. Major portions of our system have been groomed while other sections have yet to be groomed. Please keep in mind that the heavy wet snowstorm we received in October did extensive damage, caused numerous blowdowns and has set our grooming operations back a bit. Volunteer work crews have been out every weekend since the storm and more work needs to be done.

Trail 17 up the Northfield Ridge has been groomed but is boney in the usual places. Trail 17 has also been groomed down in the cornfields by The Pines and up to intersection WN#54. Grooming and removal of blow downs still needs to be completed further up Trail 17 where the trail passes by The Phen Basin and over the Huntington Ridge. Trail 100A is groomed from intersection WN54 and continuing on to intersection WN56 (Log Job). Trail 100C is groomed from WN56 to WN58 (Shit House). Trail 100 is groomed from WN58 down to the Duxbury Store and then behind the Harwood Union High School. Grooming ends near Talc Mine Road in Moretown due to the current trail closure on Route 100 (Turners Farm) between the Church of the Crucified One and Meadow Road in Waitsfield. Please DO NOT ride on this closed section of trail as it will endanger our current negotiations with the landowner. Camel's Hump State Park and the trail to the suspension (swinging) bridge still need to be groomed.

New trail construction continues on "Paul's Trail".
