There were a couple of sleds out on Raymond pond tonight.
Was that any of you guys? If so how thick is the ice.

You are doing a good job promoting what a responsible snowmobiler is all about. :div20: :frech32: :frech32:

That said, I would not allow my kid to go riding on any body of water at this point, we are a few weeks away from that.

I went across a pond I was hoping WASN'T open because I wanted to ride some water. Small isolated pond off Mountain devision trail. Never went through the ice started cracking in the middle but I never broke through. Went across about 5 times then 2003f5 decided it was "safe" so he came across. Alittle late I guess for me to be looking for open water on small ponds. Big sebago is nice and open thats for sure. Didn't see any ice at all on it last weekend. Unless you are looking for water or NEED to get across a small body of water I wouldn't test it. I would give it a atleast a few night of single digit-below zero degrees. Also days that don't have highs in the 30s.

If you can ride on open water why cant you ride on ice??
How old is he? If he's older than like 14 I would be willing to bet that he has skipped open water more than once

No way cats love water, my sled will do as much water as i wanted without problem, but if your referring to that F5 as being slow your probably right.

hancock pond in denmark had 8" today. drilled 1 hole near the boat launch, and one down on the other end where it connects to sand pond (walden pond). there were 4 or 5 shacks out there.
