I want to get shocks that will handle my riding style.Should I have the stock one's on my 03-800SKS rebuilt and revalved or would I be better off getting some walker evans or fox floats or something completely different.I weigh 235 and ride aggresive. What do you guy's recommend. Thanks in advance

the shock you have should be revalved , they are good shocks just the OEM spec is to soft ! I pounded A SB at the snowdeo 2 years ago ,it was the same way ! the trails had poor cover and Way to many sleds running on them . By mid day the mogels where 2 ~3' deep , didnt slow me and the Polaris Factory guy down... We had a blast , He had all 4 clickers on his personal xc-8 and rode it like he stole it! After 3~4 mile of the beating I gave the SB the rear track shock blew a seal , switched off with a rider that had a 50th xc with clicker (nice sled) and rode back on that.....

I have considered revalving the rear track shock on my 03 700 SKS. I like the shock but want to dampen the big stuff. I have determined it would be around $55 for the rebuild and $10 - $20 for shims / parts. If I do it I think $75 will be better than $350 for a new shock. Just my .02.... :beerchug:

Like xc-mark said just revalve them. All sleds come from the factory with a less than perfect set-up. Rebuildable shocks are made so that they can be set-up for different riders and rebuilt instead of buying new ones. Both Fox and WE make nice shocks if you want to go that route. It can be very spendy figure $250-$400 each for new shocks verse $30-$50 each to service & revalve the shocks that came on the sled.
