Its pretty nice on the trails, where i live we haven't had any snow, so i haven't ride anything, well the time when the pictures was taken, i ride a little bit...
sometimes the snowhawk can handle wired, but im still learning how the snowhawk works.
when most of the people riding the Snowhawk for the first time, they ride for about 15min or so, and think its nothing to ride, but they must have like an week to learning the snowhawk, after you have learned a little bit how to handel the machine, its then the fun begins, i having more fun then the last time i ride.. so.. its hard to explain, i just love the hawk grinning-smiley-023.gif

i just bought a 600 HO and love it. it handles great on the trail, little twitchy in multiple rutted trails. it is amazingly stable once it's moving, very much like riding a motocross bike when you're on hard pack. in powder it handles more like a stand-up jet-ski. it carves hard, if you're gutsy enough to trust the ski sticking. it's impressive how well the ski sticks. i ran a bunch of screws into the lugs of the track, it really helped handling out big time. now the rear sticks as well as the front. if you get a chance, ride one for a couple hours before passing final judgement. once you spend time on one, you'll buy one.

Right on! and welcome Barkatmon!

I had been watching them for a few years and really wanted to ride one,but through my readings on the hawk I discovered that most people were intimidated by them and never give them a fair shot. They are not the easiest thing in the world to ride, they are demanding, and require excellent balance and coordination.Trails are actually very fun,you just have to trust that the ski is gonna stay where you want it to and lean into the corners like on a motorcycle, only you CANNOT just coast thru a turn, you have to let off the gas, initiate the turn and power thru it,gently until the apex, then the hammers down until the next corner! The engine/clutch braking is awesome,I dont think I hit the brakes 10 times on a 50 mile trip, just power on-power off.

AKRAY4PLAY- did you use the kit from AdBoivin for your studs?I have the kit but was hoping for some feedback on it before I go and drill abunch of holes in my track-I know its gonna help keep the track under you but does it also tend to push the ski thru the corners or ? :beerchug:

Snowhawks Rock-if you get a chance to ride one DONT hesitate!

i threw in about 250 of these http://catalog.wps-inc.com/wpsonline/catal...859026523752649 . i can get some pics of the track next week when i get home if your interested in the stud pattern. it works awesome for a $20 box of screws. i used the one inch length, none are pulling out as of yet, but i'll keep my eye on them. also no problems with rubbing on coolers or snow flap.

edit, i used the Kold Kutters!

Sweet..thats exactly what my kit comes with-it even includes the pattern they recommend and also some snowflap protectors that get riveted on the inside of the flap.

did you ride it before you studded it up?anything negative about them that you can think of?Mine comes with three different lengths depending on where in the track there going-I think mine range from 3/4 inch -1.25 inch and some longer ones as well,I think there 1.5 or 1.75's for the 2.25 lugs in the middle row.So far I've managed to keep it upright on the trails but starting out on slick surfaces can be tough due to the ski pressure and dual carbides with the snow trackers.I know I loved my sled after I studded it up and vowed to never ride without them again, but the hawk is a totoally different beast and I dont want any issues with tear outs,as I imagine these tracks are not cheap ,being that there so specific and not alot of them out there dunno.gif

i rode it without studs, scared the crap out of myself since it was raining on ice. the screws do nothing on the trail, completely not noticed. on the ice, it hooks similar to as on snow. i would not ride another one without screws. it counteracts the effect of the scags biting into ice. the only bad thing i can think of is shreading your concrete in the garage if you're trying to walk it outside without sitting on the seat. pretty cool spark show though!! the dealer i got mine from has a few used Hawks that are all studded. a couple have slightly tore up the snowflap with the studs on the outer lugs. the pattern i have does not seem to eat up the flap, so i can get you a couple pics next week if you're interested. also the dealer said the short tracks seem more prone to screw/snowflap affairs than the long tracks. all my studs were 1 inchers, as wer e the ones on the other machines. with 500+ miles on the other sleds, the screws were still in great shape.
