ZRT 006
well i felt it was time to try somethin new, i decided to trade in the 600 for an 04 zr900 sno pro efi left over, i think i got a good deal and definitly cant wait to rid the new 9! the zrt will be missed, but the poor fuel mileage will not!

Did they give you a decent trade in value?

How bad was your mileage? Mine is not too bad. I ride with two '01 zr 600's and an F6. On average, I use about a half gallon more than their twins. dunno.gif No, I don't ride like a granny!

same here, my friends modded xc700 would use A LOT less fuel then mine, if i spent a couple hours on a lake i could suck down a full tank in 40-50 miles!

when it was stock? hmm not to great, probably 7-8 beating on it, with pipes and power breather down to like 4-5 beating on it. but even on the trail with the pipes/lid going easy (breaking in new belt) it wouldnt do much better then like 7 or 8 if i remmeber correctly.

My dads 99 gets some of the best in our group. (his outright halls to) You guys sound like you get the kind of milage that I get with my modded T??? dunno.gif

:frech32: On the zrt 600 if you change the clutch weights ,rid yourself of the notched weights, when riding trails you always seem to be in and out of the power band(6500-7500)aprox rpm. These notches hold the rollers at about 6500 rpm and let them go at about 7500rpm, great for lakes , but hell on the trails.Mine used a tank every 90 miles and I ride with all kinds of sleds, I'm the only one with fuel stops marked all over their maps. The weights from D&D WILL CORRECT SOME OF THE FUEL USEAGE, but remember these zrt's were meant to go, and they do that very well.Sometimes you have to make a sacrafices. good luck with the new cat. luxhello.gif
Ride 207
I get atleast 12-14 mpg
I am one of the last ones to run out out of every one i know, and my sled hauls, and i beat it pretty hard when im ridin it

well u hadnt mentioned that u jetted down, of course allowing less fuel into the engine will save gas.

when my zrt was stock it was pretty rich. even the stock mains are contradicted by the sizing chart on the air box. i believe 290 mains would be good for 0-2000 feet in 10-30 degree weather, but the stock mains were 310s. also the air, fuel and clips need to be fine tuned as well.

yah i was pretty happy with what they gave me, i bought the zrt from the same dealer 3 years ago for 4500 bucks with 1300 miles on it. they offered me 3200 trade in on an 06 machine or 2500 trade in on this 04 Zr900 left over. i wasnt to thrilled about getting 700 bucks less but theyve been good to me and actually just warrantied the engine in the zrt over the summer cause the crank broke last season. the zr900 has a factory 2 year warranty still and i bought an extended warranty for another 800 bucks so total of 5 years, not bad. zr was only 5500 after trade in.

WOW! My 2000zrt jetted down to 330's was pretty good on gas compared to the valved 600 twins. I never owned a valved zrt, but I would have thought the milage would be pretty good with the flats, and 310 mains..

As Zertman said from 12-15mpg., in comparision to my uncles 2001 zr 600 efi le it is always 2 or 3 dollars more expensive on each fill up. With the MBRP it is $4-6 each fill up.

nice trade zrt 006, my dad is looking at doing the same thing jsut i will keep the zrt and he will move on to a 2004 zr 900 in red. He loves the look of thee red one for some reason.

Update us on performance once you get it outin comparision to you zrt when it had the DD's. :beerchug:

I to get 110-120 miles on a tankfull of gas and that's usually only taking 8.5 to 9.0 gals at the MOST. The 2001 ZRT 600 is very frugal on gas and oil! It's got 290's,1 tooth less top gear,168 studs, shifts at 8,400 and RIP'S! Keeping the pwr valves clean is a BIG PAIN though!!! On my speedo the needle goes straight down on a mile run,go figure.. Great sled a tad heavy, but the sing of the 3 cyl with MBRP silencer will keep my happy for a few more years! Have a great winter guys......

Just bought a '04 ZR900efi std in Feb,,, got the '02 ZRT600 for sale. I added Simmons skis to the ZR900 and it handles absolutely fantastic!,, rails around corners with zero effort. I do like this sled. snap
