Is the main trail heading east from Cranberry Lake closed? We have heard that a landowner/sportsman club has closed their 50,000+ acres to sleds. If this is true does anyone from that area know how we can get to C7 heading to Sabattis or Long Lake?
Is there a better way to get back to Stillwater from Tupper Lake area without riding the rails?
Thanks, Tony

This is what I have heard, don't know if it is all fact or not. Basically the president to cranberry lake hunting club decided to close trails because of poor membership numbers and the club needed a certain amount of money, he thought that the local sled club would pay the bill but they would not. He did this without any say from club members. I heard early last week that the problem was resolved, I heard that due to the president doing this without say from anybody else, 28 club members threatened to withdraw their memberships, and for 500 dollars a pop for dues, that was a greater amount of money loss compared to what they were behind in dues(4500 I think) so from what i hear that the trails are now open, don't know if that is fact or not for sure though.

As of Tuesday night it was agreed that we could not legally our ethicly meet the demands of the Cranberry Lake fish and game club.Any trails east of Cranberry Lake will not be affected. The only trails affected are the access trails coming into Cranberry and Winfall. We will be able to go to all the same places just different routes. The lake currently has 4 1/2 inches of ice. With any luck it will stay cold and get thicker. anything chages I will post it
