Must be nice

Ditches look great. The whoops from the early snow are gone and there is deep powder in lots of the ditch.

Well just go back from riding and all i can say is wow, havent had this much fun in a while. Heres a pic for now, and i'll post more later.

im thinking of going to lisbon tomorrow...is there any gas stations on the edge of town to drop off at and what direction from town is the best riding??
is the snow getting harder from blowing all day?

thanks

No gas stations outside of town... Lisbon sucks ass as far as that goes seeing as all the gas stations are on main St, but I ride in and out all the time to get gas and havent had any problems yet. East of town is the best way to go and staying on the East/West running roads is the way to go because the wind was out of the Nothwest that is definaltly the best way to go, If you need a spot to unload in lisbon you can do it in Our yard with no worrys, are neigbors are used to lots of vehicles. My cell is 701-307-0120 if you need a spot to unload give me a call, and if you get gas in lisbon only get if from the BP its the only one that deosnt have water in there gas

85 miles today and the riding was the best yet. Some spots by Walcott were a little thin on new snow but for the most part lots of powder. Almost got stock a few times it was so deep. Very forgiving ride.

The fun run in Casselton on Saturday was great. There was enough fresh snow that it made the ditches fun. There were a few ruff spots but what do you expect with the North Dakota wind. The Rural Cass Club might be out this week to groom their whole system. Not sure if it was going to happen or not. Would be nice for Christmas weekend if they were able to get it done.

:fluffy:

Think SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Groom what now?? Fricken weather.

Was hunting this weekend with a sweater on and sweating. So I ended up walking around with just a t-shirt on.

Another 85 miles today. Trails are groomed but the snow is blowing making it hard to see.
goldenboy
Put on some miles last night, fog made the riding 35 mph tops but that trails are still really nice, 75-85mph the whole time with one hand if you want.

All the off trail powder is getting crusty. Another 4 inches or so will be due here pretty soon I think.
SKSDeedle
South of Leonard, over to Sheldon area there is still some good riding area, but the highly traveled stuff around Mapleton/Casselton/Horace/Kindred is all frickin shot.

Not that I rode today (chain broke this AM) but thats the way it was last weekend.

Wow1.gif Dumped the sleds at Horace, rode to Colfax, Walcott, Kindred, Davenport, Casselton, and Mapleton. Made about 120 miles, trails were OK but it was windy and starting to blow them in a bit and the blustery conditions w/ no sun made seeing any defininition in the terrain impossible. It was a good day to take her easy and break in a new belt. We still have good riding around here IMO, could use a few more inches of snow though. Was on the trails up by Fertile MN last weekend and they were OK, not as good as Fargo and south though.
mlanglie
Anyone been out riding this week?
DeerHuntr
Wow1.gif Was hoping to ride to Lake Park and partake in the oldtimer's run but the sleds in the shop till middle of next week, sucks to miss a day of riding this time of the year.
mlanglie
Got a late start today but did get 55 miles in. The snow on that trails is really nice. We even had powder to ride on.
goldenboy
Snow was great last weekend was plenty of powder but now everything is hard and crusty but with groomed trails it's very fast. Off trail is def. a 1 out of 10 right now.

As I predicted, the river has stayed soft with the snow insulation on it preventing it from getting the good freeze after our warm weather. We rode the Wild Rice the last 2 weekends and broke through about 40 times half sinking a sled once. Red River has water coming up every time you ride on it and is not looking good either.

Radar runs next Saturday right outside of Wild Rice Bar and Grill.

What's the date of the radar run? I am going to Ada for the USCC Race on the 18th. I would love to go to the radar run if it's on the 25th.

120 miles today. The trails have all been groomed and are very flat. A few small finger drifts here and there but very fast trails.

Trails are alittle pounded after yesterday but was going 75-85 the whole way from Kindred to Horace. Great for speeds runs but nothing exciting other then speed. Bare dirt in a couple spots!!
mlanglie
I was riding alone, so speed is what I was looking for.
mlanglie
Snow is still good out there.
Livetohunt
Fortunately we have alot of snow, but 40 degrees yesterday, probably 40 degrees today, and it has been raining all morning. I was out yesterday, just depends on what you are looking for.
mlanglie
I was going out today but the rain has stopped me, at least for now.

That was my plan as well. Maybe it will get cold this week and firm up the snow, but last news I saw was for 30's all week.
mlanglie
It got a little nicer in the afternoon so the wife and I went for a 50 mile ride. The trails are now really beat up. I would have went for a longer ride but it was to hard on the wife.
SKSDeedle
Yuck after this week everything might be pretty roughed up...or nonexistent...but arent they talking snow for this weekend?

My sled blew up so I guess I dont care. trau14.gif
goldenboy
Looks like grass everywhere now but they're talking 1-3 friday night and more saturday so I might get out sunday after all. Can't believe how fast the seasons go.
