I took my wifes sled out for a test drive this weekend and I'm hearing a strange popping noise coming from the right front suspension (at least that is where it sounds like it is coming from). I'm not feeling anything unusual in the steering or handling. The popping noise happens when I am decellerating and sometimes when I am turning. I thought maybe the spring was coming unseated and popping back on, so I tightend it up a little. This didn't help and might have made the noise more frequent. Any one have any thoughts about what this might be?

Thanks! :div20:

Check your chaincase chain tension. Also the oil for excessive filings on the dipstick. The chain adjuster should be tightened as tight as possible by hand, while rocking the secondary clutch, then backed off one bolt face, then lock the locking nut.

Thanks - I'll give that a shot and see what happens. I did adjust the chaincase tension earlier this fall, but I forgot to move the secondary clutch when I did it, so maybe that caused the problem.

check your swaybar bushings in the trailing arms and in the bulkhead. might have a broken bulkhead bushing.
