well i'm jumping into an engine rebuild for me 91 phazer.

I'm in need of some info on whether i can swap a mid 80's crank case for my cracked 91' and reuse the crank and cylinders. did the motor change from a 480 to a 485 in the early 90's? dunno.gif

the crank from the 91 has been inspected and is in good condition, i've had it flushed and cleaned and plan to use it as is. :beerchug: the bottom of the 91 case is cracked and i can have it welded for $50- or I can buy a 84' case in good condition for about $100.

Any thoughts or concerns are appreciated!

the motors in phazers are practicaly the same from 84-02. there all 485's. the modle just sais 480 in certain places.

and i think you should be able to swap the PZ and PZII cases but im not sure because he clutches are different and i think the part they are different on is the way they fit against the motor.
