We were in da yoop last weekend, and a buddy bought the switchback 600 ho while we were up there. We waited until there was a hundred miles on it, then raced from a 20 mph roll. His sled is completely stock. Mine is a 05 600 HO SDI Renegade. I am clutched, geared down to 19/43, and have a 136x2 paddle on it. I pulled him as soon as we got on it, till 80 mph, then he slowly passed me until he was about 3 lengths in front of me, and that's where we stayed. I did ride it for awhile, I liked the bars in position 7, reminded me of my rev, but wow, is that a lot of ski pressure. First Polaris in years that I liked. The motors have always been great, just never cared for the ergonomics on them. I'm not a brand loyal guy, and don't mind telling the truth about a little race. We are boondockers, not lake runners, but that is a great sled that Polaris made. I'm a runt, so the chaincase in the footwell didn't bother me a bit. Looking forward to reading about clutch set ups, and if different gearing will help with boondocking. You switchback owners should be pretty happy. :div20: Later, Sxrlar.

Good report sxrlar. Nice to read an unbiased opinion. Your ride is no slouch either and you get the last laugh at the pump. I was thinking about a more aggressive lug on my S/B and l notice that you've got 2" on your Gade. Has the trade off been worth it? Any problems overheating when on the trail?

How did the MPG compare? That 600HO is tempting, I got to ride one last weekend. I would hate to give up the mileage of my 600SDI.
