im looking for a dyno tuner to dial in my motor and am curious to see how it performs on pump gas. the motor is an arctic cat pro mod motor that has been converted for trail use in a firecat. if anyone could tell me where there are some good tuners in the state I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
mtrsprt
Not too many with their own dyno and time to fiddle with someone else's machine. I will be getting one this spring though. :div20:

You can give Gus Bohne a call, but he hardly makes time to dyno people sleds.

Pete is very busy now, but he MIGHT have time to get it on the dyno, but probably not much more time for tuning.

TYSGTI, Your cylinders look just like the cylinders I saw down to Pistall Petess that he done for that MARCO character, I hope your Attic Cat goes faster than that turd is gonna go!!!!! Marcos brother has one of those Superturbocharged thingies that im sure will also suck rather than blow, Either way the mighty mach z will smoke all of them!!!!! :smilielol:

Slowdoo,
This is one of them pesky Philippon boys. I am ascared of that 440 for sure! I will agree that Pete is the man. Pete has had his hands in all my sleds (Except my sons 380....so far) motors and will be the only one in them.

Slowdoo, you sneaking a peak at my secret weapon in the cave? You should be ascared after seeing them. The transfers are big enough to park your truck in! Is that 440 of yours ready? I've got a fleet going now!

When are you planning on being at Back Lake?
NHboy
Slowdoo,

What's with that 2000 Mach Z in your profile? Pick up a new beater?

Are you gonna let us all in on it??? :div20:
NHboy
Rob K,

Yeah it's me Marco. How the heck are you doing? You are probably aware of the details of that race. Strange things happen when bench racing with a couple beers in ya. Jenny, I'll let you in on it too but I don't believe you want to try this with your F-7. Here are the details:

1. Each racer (so far Chad, Myself, Mark and my brother if the hair dryer is drying) must show up on Back Lake on Saturday morning Jan 14th at 7:30 AM. Chad and I will have already gone for a 20 mile warmup ride.
2. We will then proceed out to breakfast (I just added that) and consume large amounts of corn beef hash and eggs (Great for weight transfer I'm told).
3. We will all proceed to go on a 50 mile loop out of town (Location to be determined the day of the race. Basically the worst trail possible to round off those chissels that Mark plans on running.) with no stops for fuel.
4. Once the loop is completed all surviving racers will return to Back Lake. (again no fuel stop)
5. Racers will line up at the beach I'll throw the snowball and it's full throttle to tall timbers. First there wins.

Rules:

1. $100 entry fee per racer.
2. Any fuel allowed as long as you can hold enough in your tank for the entire session. (Having a friend hide a tank in the woods and using the I had to take a leak will not fly.)
3. Anyone who breaks down will be towed by myself or Chad. We will however remove our flaps to increase the size of the snowcone.
4. Overheating is not an allowable excuse for stopping on the trail ride. If you are afraid for the motor, hand over the $100 then and we'll come back for ya at the end of the race.
5. Any track and traction products are allowed. (remember I'll be looking for the worst trail I can find!)
6. 2500cc Displacement maximum.
7. Power adders allowed(and encouraged)
8. Stupid behavior on the trail ride will get you DQ'd immediately.

I'm sure I missed some of the discussion here but this is the idea of the race. Let me know if anyon else is interested.

Marco,

I aint scared of that so called 1050 thingy you ride, being thats what you enter in our backyard event. What am i going to race? My srx 835 maybe! A bunch of chisels in my secrect weapon, maybe? One will never know until D-day.
I thought that the trail ride was only gonna be 30miles, Changing the rules are we? (LOL) I am still curious to know what snowmobile thingy you plan on running D-day.

Hope to talk to you guys soon

P.S. Be afraid, very afraid, you never know what old blue will do.

I don't know who to be more scured of, Marco or Guy? I know what Marco has to bring to the table, but still don't know much about what Guy is doing? He's been really quite. Oh ya and a 50 mile ride is fine with me, I know mine will hold together LOL. Is Pistol Pete still trail boss? :beerchug:

i love it!!! dance_2.gif

marco, i am fine. your description above is humorous to read - i had a good laugh. seems the advantage will be to you and chad for the trail part. cousin mark will have his hands full on the trail, but i have faith.

so the race part is only the lake, right? the trail ride leading up is just to eliminate any sort of trailer queens (i love that term). sounds fun. the winner should have to buy dinner for the contestants at tall timber.

Rob K,

Yes racing is on the lake only. Racing in the trails is forbidden and generally dangerous. Are you interested in entering?

Mark,

Good to hear from you! Gotta admit you can take it as much as you can dish it out! Now I'll take out my trail sled (stock cylinder ZRT 800....stock outside anyways)Saturday for a shakedown run and if all goes as I hope I won't need the 1050. Don't want to wreck those chissels. Remember your rule you have to announce which sled you are running. If you are running something different that that SRX 700 (remember tech directors read these posts too)you will need to disclose it.

I will make the formal announcement next week which sled I'll be running.

I think we need a few more rules:

1. You must own the sled you are running (A valid NH registration will suffice as proof)
2. Sled must have working headlight and taillight.
3. If sled has decals on it they must be cool (We do not want to associate with uncool sleds) level of coolness to be determined by the Trail Boss Pistol Pete.
4. If you are known as "Bosscat" you are not allowed to race as you are faster than I am already.

Chad or Mark, care to add any rules of your own for review?

Give it up, what's under the hood? I have a feeling it's Hooper powered! How big?

Details Details!! I see it's got a Comet 4 Pro, what else?

You're in if you want but I'd be a little worried about those picks. Unless your running that ZRT in the background.

Good interpretation of the rules! I have done some investigating however so I now know whats under your hood.

So will you be there?

OK,

Shake down run complete. I will be running my stock (outside) cylinder 99 ZRT in this race. It's not quite as fast as the 1050 but I feel pretty confident it has enough. I know what Chad will be running, his stock (outside) cylinder 2000 Thundercat. We all know Chad cheats though so who knows it's probably an 1132 or something.

Now Mark, what will you be running? Old Blue?

Jenny, What are you bringing to this race? The Thundercat or the F-7 (please say the F-7 I know what that T-Cat has in it)?

I think we should add another rule.

If your sled has the ability to back up on its own (working reverse) you will receive a 2 sled advantage at the starting line.

I like the sound of that.

Cory,

You're in. You may want to change those studs out though cause We'll be driving over some rocks for sure. Are you going up to Back Lake next week? If the 1100 is as fast as I think it is I may need to rethink which sled I use. That 99 of mine is an 1107 pump gas motor.

Sounds like a good time coming!

Rockin F-7,

I never heard of Cat putting out a Kitty like that! Must have been some sort of spring buy only eh? Can't wait to see it run next week. I spoke with Bonesey and he filled me in on that sled. Its got a good reputation.

Marco,
I may have been accused of cheating but I have yet to be declared illeagal.
As for Mark I here old blue is getting a possible face lift, who really knows though? dunno.gif
As for the reverse rule, that is fine but your sled must remain in reverse untill the hand is given and then you must use your throttle hand hand to disengage it before going. Sound good? dunno.gif
And to anyone else who wants in, that is fine just remember that the sled still has to survive a 50-30 mile trail ride before hitting the lake, all in which that time the sled must always remain running. If the machine should shut off for any reason you are out.
Am I leaving anything out Marco?
NHboy
Ummm,

Alright never mind about the reverse thing.

I heard Old Blue will be running. Pete's gonna weld that Baby up Thursday. No excuse now Mark.

Nothing left out as far as the rules go. It will be at least 30 miles probably closer to 50, anybody is welcome. I think it's us, Mark, and two possibles, Cory(mtrspt, and JennyJet).

Looking forward to it. I'll be testing the 1107 up there Thursday - Saturday to make sure she holds together the distance. If not at least I'll have a couple weeks to scrape the aluminum out of the cylinders.
