Because the Monday after the third Sunday in December falls on the 19th this year. Per the legislature. It no longer has anything to do with hunting season.

bro got a huge 8 pointer. 22" inside spread, 11 inch tines! beautiful deer. only 180lbs, though, cause it was young. biologist aged it at 3 1/2 years. had wicked genes to have a rack that big at 3 1/2 years.

no pics, sorry. i don't have a didgi.

I got a small 4 point opening weekend of gun season, like you say meat in the freezer! Only jumped 2 deer in muzzle season and I hunted everyday. :div20:

That is another date that was set by the legislature, but they don't have anything to do with each other.

I got this 8pt (9 pt with 1 tine broken off) near Rangeley Maine the day after Thanksgiving. I didn't see any shooters in VT this year. In a few years the hunting in VT should be a little better. Hopefully this spike horn law gets the buck to doe ratio a little better.

I went to Jackman for the first week only saw a couple of does and a couple of good bull moose. Did manage to take out a coy dog .
