Hey guys,

A buddy of mine is looking at a 2000 MXZ 700 with 2300 miles. I just have some questions about it. Is there anything that was wrong with this machine that he needs to look at? Any problems that he can head off before they happen?

Also, does anybody konw the weight and stock HP on these? Any other info or things to look for would be awesome!

This one hasn't been run in 2 years, so we already figure chaing all fluids, hyfax, carbides, plugs, rebuild carbs, pull the exhaust/airbox to look for critters, and belt. What else would be smart?

Any help would be great!!
Thanks!

oh yeah...think my 02 Poo 700 will beat it? grinning-smiley-023.gif :div20:

I rode one of these for a few years.....I loved it!

They were listed as 472 "dry" and they had around 120 h.p.

Grease all fittings, check rear skid for proper movement etc. (make sure nothing is stuck) check wheel bearings, etc.

As far as it beating your POO....well ......it should be a good race....I dont know about the 02 700's but I had a 99 700 at the same time I had my 00 mxz 700,and I think the POO had more snot....but it sucked the gas..BAD !! (but if you remember right, the 97-99 or 00 700 POOs were freakishly fast,I think that got changed with the newer engine) I ran my Buddy's pro X 700 (03,I think) a few times (with my Doo 700) they were pretty much the same.........

Anyway,the Doo 700 is a great sled!

I've got a 2000 MXZ 700 ME, put on over 2000 miles with minor problems (belt and plugs) excellent fuel mileage, DPM excellent option, great sleds, should be a tight race with the polaris, just have to watch out for the dam fcats

Pull your clutches off and check everything out. Springs might need to be replaced after sitting for 2 years. Probabally need a good cleaning reguardless.

Also, pull the RAVE valves out and clean them to make sure they're working properly. :div20:

As far as your buddy beating your Poo 700, :smilielol: highly doubtful.
