just bought a 04 zr900 EFI, it has the factory updates.
what i need to know is what is the power band on it and what and what is the best clutching setup to get me there?
will i have to do a gear change on the diamond drive?
we are lake runners up here so we are on the pin alot of the time.
i do not need my brother in law and his F7 EFI in my line of sight or i will never hear the end of it.

You've got your work cut out for you making the DD ZR900 a lake racer. Not a good top ender.Plenty of info if you do some searching on this site.I'm waiting on the new secondary results.Supposedly better top end,we'll see.

the 10.4 secondary is suppose to add more area for the belt to run on thus preventing slipage at top end speeds clutching is the same as 04 & 05 hopefully it works the angle cut on the sheeves is suppose to be differnt also

clutch it to spin 7200-7300 and let it creep to 7500.

10.4 secondary to make it run like it should, i saw about 10 mph more on my 04 SP. then clutch or mabey a taller gear. i gutted the airbox also but i dont know how much that helped

85 grams, lose the airbox shelf, make sure the deflection is tight.

Isn't pulling the shelf on an EFI not recommended?

My brother has an 04 ZR900 carb. His machine is a beast on the lakes. It has a lot of power, he took it to the dyno and it but out 170 hp at like 7800 - 8000 rpm. I think it might still be listed on the dyno site on HCS. All he did was a 1 degree key, twim slp pipes, v-force reeds and ODS clutch. His friend bought the same sled this year it was a left over 04. They did they same stuff to it, and the sled is the same. You hit the gas to much of the line the whole front end kicks up on you.
