Well, Sunday we trailered out to highway 44 and rode the ditch and messed around in the pits at seddon's corner. Proved to be fun but painful...I performed a nice little dismount that resulted in my knees getting banged up on the side panels, and my ass bouncing off the ground shortly thereafter. But that was minor in comparison to the other incident of the day...my buddy Nik flat landed his (my old) sled in the ditch hard, and the landing resulted in a compression fracture of his spine. Sickening to see that happen to one of your riding buddies. At least 6 weeks off the sled, he's on some pills that allow him to move somewhat, but he was hardly able to make it out of the ditch to the truck after lying in the snow for 20 minutes. Just goes to show you really shouldn't be jumping stuff like that this early in the season...not enough cushion coming down. Everybody had a lot of fun up until that point.
Here's the
video. Need some more snow to warrant another ride!

vid wont work for me. Anybody else have this problem
sorry about your buddy, that must have been horrible to watch. I watched my dad get thrown from his sled last year and luckily he missed every tree and got away unscathed. By the way we were going 70. :augen41:

Nice Vid Rob, Yeah we need a better base before I go riding but I think I may go for a shakedown cruz this sunday see if all the parts stay put. Nice jump, Remember to keep your nose up. Note: save a bit of throttle for take off something I learned last winter, I hope.

Yep, looks like I've gotta keep the clutch engaged...the 440 backshifts too hard to let off completely! I should've started a little smaller first...that was the first time I hit that jump, too. Hard to judge how fast you're gonna be going at the top of a little climb like that too. Oh well, next time!

Sweet. Thanks for showing that vid, nice to see one of the area I'm riding in for a change. Also now I know what the pits are like, I'm going to hopefully try them out this weekend.
