I think the archie fergeson race has recently been dying out due to lack of support and organized committee to put it together. Last year, barely any prize money was raised for the race which is pretty lame when people pay lots of time and money to participate in the race. The nome golovin has the biggest purse for cross country races in the US besides the irondog. The nome golovin race is very organized and set up very well by the lions club.

Mike your right, archie ferguson/williegoodwin race is getting lame, 600+ dollar entry fee, barely any purse to start with, and to top it off the lions club takes 100 dollars from your own entry fee and use it for trophies and what ever, here they(lions club) put on bingo's, dances and make thousands but it doesn't show in the race, oh yea you got to pay for pit bibs which sucks.

I vote for Iron Man. Knew the guy that started the thing years ago. Worked for Coors Light as a sponsor and had some good times up there. My mom owns Reflections in Fairbanks and she would sponsor some years also.
