It was a tough decision for me to make. My kids are old enough to go now but would rather go skiing, I know it won't be long till they are grown and gone so rather than keep all this sledding stuff in storage I'm putting it on ebay and hitting the slopes. Thanks to all those that helped out here with important trail condition info and tips. It has been a lot of fun. Who wants a SXR about 1,200 miles away from 20K? he he.... Be careful out there. DT

Day TRIPPER,
I used to be a recognized ski racer. My daughter is 5 years old now. she wants to ski, I have to get involved. I know where you are coming from, as sledding is almost as gratifying as ski racing, particulary if you can't race anymore... I want t do
both..Love skiing.. Love sledding.. Love my daughter to no end..

Glad I had a chance to meet you at the Radar Base last year. I am going to miss the trip reports that were fun to read and the pictures that brought back memories of past rides.
You are making a great decision to spend time with your kids. We will miss your input here at HCS but please check in from time to time.
A few pics of the kids skiing down the slopes would be nice if you can swing it.
You are not leaving us... you are taking a leave of abscence...soon to return with the whole family eager to hit the trails---------------------the Snowmobile Trails!
Seriously, enjoy the slopes with the family and have a happy and safe winter.

daytripper have fun skiing, Im gonna miss your awsome trail reports. I find it hard to belive your kids would rather ski then snowmobile. I skied and snowboarded since i was a kid but last year i pretty much gave that all up to snowmobile instead.
The thing i hate about skiing or snowboarding when there is alot of natural snow on the ground is the thought that i am wasting a perfect snowmobile day to walk a mile to the car, get rapped buying a lift ticket, stand in lift lines for 50% of the day, get rapped buying lunch, stand in lift lines again, and then walk another mile back to the car with all the gear. I do enjoy it tho, just no where near as much as snowmobiling.
good luck with that.

Say it isn't so!!! HOLY CRAP!!!!
Your pictures and trail reports are truly going to be missed.
I know I learned alot of great trails because of your trail reports.......
Damn now somebody has to step up............and I'm just too damn far away for a day trip to the NEK.
Good Luck Mike.
PS I'l take care of the Yellow Bucket Trail for you!!

Hey DT. Sorry to hear of your decision but I can understand. I can't thank you enough for the Yamaha advise you have given me. Your pictures and trail reports will be missed. Although we never met I know our paths crossed frequently as I would read that you were riding where I was riding on many days. Best of luck and fun on the slopes. Ed

Jay,
I am fine. I got a huge lump on my left shoulder but it never bothers me. I am getting the firecat ready as we speak.
I was jetskiing on a standup about 3 weeks after the accident. I raced in my first jetski event in Bristol RI in July and a did an Ocean race in Wildwood, NJ. I would say that I am oK.
Got my second kid due any day now so I don't know how much riding I am gonna do this year.
See ya on the trails....
