I bought this sled last year and it was jetted to ride in the Black Hills but I live in North Dakota.
Click to view attachmentMy question is do I have to rejet it because it runs rich here at 2000'.
I also take the sled down to the Hill and ride the trails there at around 6000', which it was jetted for.
I was hoping for the best of both worlds because it seems alot of work to jet each time. Guess its better rich here than lean there
Also does one nessesarly have to run the Bombardier Rotax oil in this sled or can I use other 2 stroke oil? Thanks for the help, Shawn

If you're regularly riding 2,000 to 6,000 you have 3 options:
1. Learn to rejet (I really only takes 10 minutes once you learn it)
2. Install a dial-a-jet and learn how to use it.
3. Leave it jetted for 6,000 and live with poor rich-running performance and fuel economy and smoke when you're at 2,000. Happy mediums don't exist. If, for instance, you jet it for 4,000, it'll run sub-par at 2,000 and you'll blow a hole in your piston at 6,000.
As for your oil question, I don't touch those. They have no answer....do some searches and you'll see what I mean.

You could run INJEX in it, my old sled has over 38,000 miles running it and never had any problems other than parts wearing out

Thanks guys guess my son will have to put up with the smoking rich sled for now, I do have a dial-a-jet on my Firecat and works good.
As for the oil I guess one synthetic is about as good as the other....RIGHT?
Has anyone installed a dial-a-jet on these carbs?
Thanks again Shawn
