Here's a warning, I bought a track and 2 pairs of gloves off them, they sent me a bill off ebay and I paid right away, I mean right away. I never heard anything back so I called them 3 days later to make sure it was shipped out. Later a guy leaves me a message saying it will go out that day. 4 days later on a saturday night this guy Jonah calls me and says he can't ship my parts because the shipping he quoted me is not enough, he says he needs another 32.00. I asked him why and he says they no longer ship the way he quoted me because it was too much for him to put it in his car and take to the mailing station. This is Not my fault. I asked him what will happen and Jonah said he will not ship the stuff so I asked for my money back. He said he would do this. 3 days go by and nothing, I called long distance again and he says they need to take fees from the money he owes me because the stuff was in stock and I had to explain to him he broke the contract by not shipping my stuff and asking for more money. He said he would take care of it. It's very easy to do to give me my money back, he just has to hit Refund on the transaction and it's done but oh no he sends me back money and it ends up being 43.00 less because of fees. I had to cancel this and call again. Now the assholes there won't come to the phone or refund my money. I've taken action through the way I've payed but they are still not responding. They owe me $370.00 and won't return my money. So this will give some people an idea of who you are dealing with.

This is for Chris and Jonah, Why won't you refund my money???

Still waiting for my money, it is actually almost $380.00. Called a few more times and all I got was the secretary said "Oh Chris never returned your call?" All I know is I'd be in Jail right now if I lived near his business. Give me my Fucking money back Chris Vanderloop.

just call the court house in thier county and tell them what happend tell them you want to file a small claims suit that will get them moving fast

yup, paypal is super easy if you paid that way. I have had to do it to a couple sellers on ebay that didn't send stuff after three weeks or so. I simply wrote them an email explaining the situation as well as my emails I have sent the guy and the next morning, I had the money back in my account.

Your GOLDEN, you shouldent have any problem stopping the payment through you credit card co. I would still report to e-bay just so he dosent couse problems for other people.

I have reported it to ebay and now I'm going through paypal, as long as the money is in the paypal account I should be OK but this should not have gone this way at all. JUST for people to know your credit card company will not refund you, most companies that I know of if you paid throgh paypal. But if you paid directly it won't be a problem. I found that out now.

I was just a Ken's yesterday. They wanted to charge me $270 for a simple tune-up of my wife's sled. I asked if they accept competitor's coupons, and they said yes. I told them there was an ad in the Post Cresent (local paper) that had a place offering a $99 tune up. They said bring it in and they will look into it. I go get the paper and bring it back to them and show them, THEN they claim that's not a full tune up. I call the other place that has the coupon in the papaer, and he explains everything they will do for the $99 fee. I tell them, and they say they wont do it either. I said fine, you dont get my business then, and walked out.

GIVE THEM BAD FEEDBACK, and dispute the charge with your CC company AS WELL AS Ebay. Problem should be solved once you do that.

I've had great experiences with them at the snowshows I have been to. I bought a helmet, coat, and mittens for my wife through them, and they were terrific. I have also dealt with the exact same people when having my wife's sled serviced, and had the worst experiences and prices ever. It's almost like they sell everything dirt cheap so they can rip you off beyond belief when it comes to servicing your sleds. My Ski-Doo dealer wants $69 plus $30 per carb for full tune up and cleaning and synching the carbs. Ken's wants $270 for the exact same thing, over DOUBLE what the Ski-Doo dealer will charge.

I think I know the place with the $99 "tune-up" you mention and I would doubt you would get much done for that amount.

Post feedback on the $99 tune up. I'd like to watch and see it done personally.

Wow, they are in a very tight position incase they don't know it! having studied a little business law in my day, a situation just as you described is called "bushing" they quote you a price when you sign the contract and then come back and say they need more money because they can't sell or ship something that cheap. usually people just agree like idiots to pay the additional money, when in reality they knew about the additional charges and either marked it up that much or are just screwing you completely.

you should be able to get out the contract to buy 100% by using the unilateral mistake defense and just mention the term "bushing" to your lawyer, they will take care of the rest...if he or she is a good lawyer. :div20:

I have had good luck with ken's in the past, but if you are getting a bad deal i think you should at the very least get out of it.

Just to let people know they could ship it for the price they quoted, but as Jonah said" it's too much of a hasle to ship it that way now" So I'm the one getting screwed, they should have done this afterwards or quoted me the new shipping amount in the first place and I would have paid.

I live 10 minutes from Ken's and have been a life long customer. They have always been good to me. Their service prices are outragous, I will give you that, but if they have the demand, why not charge the price? It's only good business. Call Jay Vanderloop, he runs the Sales Dpt and is the guy that I deal with. He will help you out. Jay and Chris are brothers, Mary is their mom and Ken is the dad (the original owner). Chris runs the service dpt. I am sure it was an honest mistake on their part. I highly doubt that they were trying to rip you off. I have dealt with them for years and my dad has for longer than that. Give Jay a call, he should be able to help you.

Don't take this the wrong way but your totally wrong with this being a honest mistake, I've called at least 8 times, I'll know my phone bill when it arrives. If it was a simple mistake then why is it now almost 3 weeks and all they have to do is click a few buttons on paypal to refund me. Give them a call and tell them your reading this on HCS. They are a bunch of Scumbags in my books, I hope one of them dies over the holidays. That's my wish for Xmas. I did everthing right and they screwed me and kept my money. They have my phone number and can call me anytime.

A little harsh? Just kidding, I know the exact feeling. I bought a set of tires off ebay for what I thought was a good deal. Payed right away after the auction was over and waited almost two weeks until I contacted him. He said send the money to him first which I then told him I did. I called numerous times with no answer and sent out an email almost every day. After a month I got so fed up I went straight to paypal and the next morning the money was back in my account. Pricks like this ruin it for other people. I have had very good previous ebay experiences.

Ebay is bullshit. I've been screwed on ebay when i bought a "new" golf club for $350, i got it and it was hardly new. Cracked head. But i couldnt return it. You hear of tons of people getting screwed. Maybe as a consumer you need to be more prepared and not just run full bore into something and trust a bull shit company like ebay. As for Kens Sports. Best Dealer in the world. Maybe you aught to stay in Nova scotia and due your business there. They've done very well by me and my father for some 10+ years. So I hope you get your money back or it gets worked out, if not. it only money. Im sure you've wasted this same amount on something else wastefull. IMO

Just remember that every time someone responds, it goes right back to the top of the page, so more people can read your complaints with Ken's. You see, some of us here live VERY close to Ken's, and see this thread as an opportunity to voice our displeasure with them as well. YOU should be thanking ME for supporting you and your complaints, not pissing on me over some pidly shit.

People asked me about it, and I responded. Dont like it, too bad.

Back to my original comment, I am pleased with the service Randy's gave me so far. Went on a very short ride with it to check it out, and it felt GREAT. I will have to do a good shakedown ride on it sometime this week or next to really see how well they did, but I am pleased so far!

Finally through paypal I got my money back, still really pissed as Kensports could have just refunded me instead of paypal having to take it back. Really sucks to wait all this time. I still lost out because I'm from Canada and our dollar has been higher lately that with the exchange I lost 10.00 from when I purchsed this. No good words for them at all and now to leave negative feedback with Ebay.

When are people gonna learn about dealerships? All they do is try to get the money and run. I just got ripped off by Shambeaus recreation in Two Rivers Wisconsin. Lost $102.00 on the return of something I bought and ended up not being able to use for my application. Argued and argued with them. They charged me $50.00 for a restocking fee and $52.00 for shipping item back. You know damn well they are just gonna keep it in stock!!! Well, that is $102.00 of business they will never get from me and also I will bash their business as often as I can!! What some idiots!! They just don't think about that! Some dealerships are alright I guess. Haven't found one yet though! Backyard ex-dragracing mechanics are your best bet. Usually honest and a ton more experience than the dealership mechanics that just want to get you fixed and out the door without trying to figure out what caused the problem in the first place so you can come back again when the problem reoccurs! Just my two cents and hope you get a hold of them and let them have it! That is just bad, bad, business!

A lot has been said in this thread about some crummy dealers out there, and I agree, a good portion of them rip as much money out of us as they can. In my area, (Shawano) they are rotten. Most people in this town know they are all scammers and drive 40 miles to Green Bay or Antigo to avoid the inevitable and violent anal fornication they will suffer at the hands of the local powersports dealers. Fortunately, I have found a mechanic that feels the same way. He worked for one of the big guys in town and just went into business for himself. His name is Ben and he has a SMALL repair shop called Mountain Bay Motorsports in Shawano. If you are ANYWHERE NEAR the area and need work done on a sled, ATV, or bike I urge you to give him a call and save yourself a lot of headaches. This guy actually has integrity, and goes WAY beyond the call of duty to help you out. Here's the kicker, $50.00 an hour labor and he works fast. I called him on a Sunday afternoon in a jam, we were leaving for the UP at 10pm, he came into the shop, fixed my buddies sled and had us on the road on time! It was a simple repair, but on a SUNDAY!?!

I know this sounds like I'm going overboard complimenting him, but he is newly in business, struggling to get things going, and in a low visibility, low traffic location. He has all the cards stacked against him and I'd hate to see him fail. We need good guys like this out there, helping us keep our machines going and at the same time showing the dealers they can't get away with abusing us. So give him a shot, you won't be dissappointed. I don't know if I'm alowwed to post his number, so if you can't find it, pm me and I'd love to give it to you. - sledshieldguy

After paypal returned my money from Kensports, Idiots there went and left me negative feedback on ebay saying I didn't pay them and was hard to deal with. I paid immediatly and after 4 days of nothing I called them and then it went from there. I hate people like this. A bunch of liars and still won't take blame for what they have done. I have something brewing for them though. Revenge will be sweet, unless someone gets them first. :smilielol:

That's what I wanted, to get my experience out there to warn people that it could happen to them. Kensports could have taken care of me right from the start and all would have been well. Now on here and in the Scam thread people will read and watch themselves. There's more than Kensports to buy from. :div20:
