examples of letting the little guys walk...
sxviper 1+2=3 cylinders
that's the key.... they don't grow big if you shoot 'em when they're young.

edit: the bigger problem is all the other people who hunt the land... you can pass 'em up as many years as you want... but if they walk 200 yards from you and it get's blasted, the idea does no good. i know at my house, our neighbors will blast the first thing they see. and they wonder why there are such small deer there.
nightfireboy
where in wisconsin are you growing them bucks, holy shit!

We have been doing QDM at our land for a number of years. That was said in our group also. We let them go and the farm next to use shoots them. That did happen at first, but what we found was it only takes a few to make it to the next year. :div20: We would talk to our niebors and tell them what we were doing, and show them what we got, it changed their minds. luxhello.gif You don't have to start at only B&C, start smaller and work your way up. Make it fun, and also important to keep your does in check. :beerchug:

PS, we also don't put a size or sex for the kids, or new hunters. More important to see them succeed than not. smiley-faces7.gif

Like you all have said QDMA works if it is applied to your land and surrounding land. We have done QDMA on the heard (for about 7 years) and becasue of this it has produced many trophy deer. We make sure the kill is even through the heard. QDMA has said that we shoot to few deer for our acerage but we do not think so.

Here are our mounts and a deer from the past 5 years. We used the last one for a remount of a old head we had from the 40's.
