So I have read the 01' Pro X has the Ryde FX that are valved really stiiff. From what I have read, everyone looking for a softer trail ride gets the revalved softer and I am thinking about doing this.
My question is do I spend the money (pending I can come up with it) to get them revalved/rebuilt this year (I think around $300-350 after said and done), or would I be better off selling my current ones and buying something different (newer)? Or would be buying some different used ones cost me more....I don't know what would be a better/different/softer shock to put in it in the first place or what kind of money I would have to spend.
Anyone have any thoughts? Maybe I try it out first and then decide.....but then that is down time during riding season the way I do things......

If they are clicker shocks just put them on the lowest setting and back off the spring preloads to where they just hold the retainers in place on the ski shocks as well as the center one. And set the rear coupling blocks to softest settings to where you use the suspension each way more. Hope that helps.

deycore's price is 65 per shock for standard service & revalve + cost of seals.
definately worth it for trail riding. you could just get the backs done first, that will make it ride decent, then go for the front.

The rears will help. I think the ski shocks are better on the 01 then the later ones so probably worth doing it. 2001 must have new compression heads or valve changes alone won't help.

DeyCore's price for standard service is $40 per shock + $15 for revalving. No extra cost for shims. For trail riding you also need the low speed by pass loosened up. Jim@DeyCore
