I have 192 studs in my 800 xc and i have 2 in the center and 2 in the outside. No matter how many times i pull the studs down I still ruin those back boogie wheels. I was wondering if anyone has tried 168 down the center? IF so how does it hook up? Also has anyone used those double stud brakets? how do they perform compared to the singles?
Thanks,
Adam

Here's how mine are done. I just bought the sled so I don't know how well it will hook up. Sure looks like it will though.

that looks a lot like what i did. last 4 sleds we studded like that. only thing is the end of double backer is on edge of window then staggerrred in .500 + .500 inch so 6 scratch lines very close to hyfax. that allow max weight over studs. my IS ZR 800 had 7 mm studs and 192. i could dig a trench 2 ++ inches wide each side and would hook up nice on glare ice. every sled we put studs on outside of hyfax failed. all 140 HP + sleds. my 700 has 2 + 2 then 1+1 and repeat. no where near the power of my 800. so 144 perfect...

I've had my last two 600 XC sleds studded down the middle using a 96 stud pattern....most of the backers are of the double type....they hold up better than the singles. With a deep lug track...down the middle works very well..
