brought home a brand new 2004 700xcsp yesterday, opended the hood and the
end of it caught the tip of the belly pan. called the dealer and he said that the tip of the belly pan needs to be shaved of 3/16". any body had or heard of this problem. dealer said that this was common for this year and he was sorry they missed this it.

I had the same problem .... shaved it myself but needed less than 1/8".

i lost a bit of paint, i was pissed.

what did you shave it with

I used a dremel to shave it ... just go a little at a time and keep trying to open/close the hood until it doesn't catch on the pan.

The paint on my hood ended up getting chipped as well. My sled is black/silver and I have a silver Toyota Tundra pick up so just used my Toyota touch up pen ... the color is very close.
