2002 xc gear case replacement. a buddy of mine is having problems getting the gear case of the shaft. any help would be appreciated

Did he loosen the track? Next unbolt the bearing flange on the opposite side of the drive shaft and try to tap the drive shaft toward the clutch side. Should come out without too much trouble.

track is off the sled. he can get the bearing to slide to the end of the shaft but it wont come off!!!!

Burrs on the shaft maybe? Is it stuck on the drive shaft or the jackshaft?
