I was wondering if anyone had any recomendations on what oil I should run after I'm through with the break in?
I was going to stay with the OEM VES II Gold, but most of my friend are running AMS Intercepter for a lot less in price.
What do you think?

Thank you for the information. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Im sure that Polaris will tell you to run VES II. If you can get Amsoil Interceptor for less Id go with that.

that ves II gold leaves a nasty residue on the side of your sled from the exhaust....
it stinks too........use amsoil interceptor right away ........i'm going to in my fuzzer :beerchug:

Amsoil keeps ur valves cleaner better than the polaris synthetic.1500 miles and hardly no build up on the valves,500 miles on polaris synthetic and u have to clean ur valves.I haven't tried blue marble yet but it's probably good too.

I use VES II in my 600 and after 1000 miles my valves are spotless.

I will be switching to Amsoil Interceptor once I use up all the Polaris Gold and VES II that I have.
Not saying that any Polaris oil is bad, but I can get Amsoil Interceptor for less than VES II.

May be a dumb question, but do you, or should you adjust the oil pump at all to run another oil ( amsoil or blue marble)?

No.
Unless somebody who didn't understand the problem, adjusted the oil pump, in an attempt to reduce exhaust valve deposits. In that case, get the oil pump back to stock setting.

Thanks Excursion.
I had always run the ves-II in my xc-sp 500, with very little exhaust valve deposits ever. I also ran it hard. Does the way the sled get ridden have an effect on the deposits? Meaning if it's run hard, does that effect the power valve deposit build-up? What would you recommend for oil? I personnally have had good luck with the poo oil...
