Hey guys, I'm going to change the chaincase oil in my sled tomorrow night. I have an 01 MXZ and was just wondering what i should use. I never got an owners manual when I bought the sled. So far I have heard I can use ATF or 5W30 Synthetic oil, and or 75W90? What should I use?

ski-doo. amsoil or klotz all make a synthetic chaincase lube that would work fine for ya. i believe your sled to hold about 8 ounces to get you close since you don't have a owners manual, good luck

I started using atf in my two sleds becuase I dont think those parts really get that much use abuse compared to the transmission in a car, so I switched and besides is the OE oil really that good, or is it just another money maker for them.

Actually they hold 8.5 ozs. to the full mark on the dip stick. My old sled I always used ATF, over 38,000 miles and not one blown bearing so I would have to say it is all you need. My new sled I run Doo Syn. chaincase oil

I'd use anything but Doo oil. Not because it's bad or anything, just WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY overpriced. Personally I use Amsiol. :div20:

Your sled had 38,000 miles on it. What was it for a sled?

chaincase oil viscosity should be @ 10w I would never put 75w90 in any sled it's a chaincase not a gear case. even 4X4 trucks now days use ATF in the transfer cases........75w90 NO NO NO NO NO NO I use Amsoil
