I want to replace the monster silencer in my 2000 Polaris 600 XC. It's a special "quite" silencer put in the deluxe models in 2000. It weighs about 20 lbs. Although it is quiet I'd like to loose some weight from my 560 lb sled. I was thinking of the mprb or slp cans. Anyone with a 98, 99, or 2000 non-ves 600 engine tried these?

I have used one on my 98 xc 6 worked well a bit of noise at idle but once past 5500 rpm or so almost like stock its an SLP era 2000 W ceramic coat if you want it e mail me. Jx

SLP, Bender, and HSP all make a pretty good product. I've heard that Steve Decker is back to making pipes and cans. Another option is "The Thing". It's a two stage silencer made by a company in Canada. It's gotten rave reviews by the high altitude crowd. The downside of the thing is it's very loud. I'm considering it for my annual pilgrimage to the high country.

I like the SLP can myself save a lot of weight and not much loder than stock.

I just recieved the new SLP catalog and it came with a long list of used/dented/scratched pipes and cans that were like 1/2 price. Might be a good opportunity???

I saw that on their website. I'll keep an eye out.

I loved the mbrp on my zl600efi - it soundas great. Just don't put your head to the side when turned at full blast - it was pretty loud on the ears.
