QUOTE(polarispunk @ Nov 27 2005, 07:33 PM)
so after i posted my topic on the saturday rides i kept thinking. I want to know your opinion. im going to use the guy jumping the road as an example. do you think he had every right to do it? taking into consideration that he was putting others at risk i think he had no right. 90% of all snowmobile injuries and fatalities happen within a mile of where ever they parked their trailer. theres just somthin about the parking lot that makes people want to show off, but its the last place that you should be doing that sort of shit. do you agree?
and to clear things up because i think some of you didnt see my point. about the gun comment, i was tryin to point out that you never know who your tryin to pick a fight with. not that my brother would ever even have shown the guy he had it, but the dumb mother fucker could have lipped off to some high or drunk dude that would have just shot him, all over a little common courtisy
Yeah I feel ya! I've seen too much stupid shit in P. lots too. And bein' in the S.N crew is all the more reason not to act like a jackass! There are plenty of places to show off. I also almost got in a brawl in te P.ville P.lot last year over a stupid parking spot-and you're right you never know who your gettin' into it with; I'm not too intimidating (execpt on my sled,of course), but my buddies (whose truck and trailer the argument was about) are a family of All-American Wrestlers and all-in-all the scariest fuckers I've met! But a gun is the great equalizer!
Anyway we rode P.ville this weekend and it was great 'cept it was COLD! Good snow (a bit lean) and great weather! Though I had too ride my buddy's '01 summit 600 w/ a big ass rack on the back! Weak! Anyone see me? It was a bit embarassing. My 800 Mod F-cat project ain't quite ready!

I will admit that parking lot posers are annoying, however they will always be there because whenever you have a group of people there is bound to be a couple idiots. I dont anything is worth fighting over or any type of violence is necessary, if you ask them to move or stop jumping by your vehicle and they dont, just move your vehicle, let them be the jackasses. Its just not worth the arguments, fights, threats, whatever. Everyone goes out to have fun and ride right, so go out and do it. Dont let these people ruin your day because they are being dumb.
If anything get them when they arent looking, let the air out of their tires when they arent around. Had to do this when someone nailed our trailer as we were unloading one time and said we were taking up to much space then parked at the other end of the lot and rode off before we left, oooops his mistake. I just wish i could of seen his face when he got back to his rig.........priceless.

It's too bad these guys were assholes about you requesting they jump elswhere. You are right there was absolutely no where else to park on Sat. I made one sweep through the parking lot and I didn't find anything for my truck and trailer. I was forced to park on the icy hill. You would think if those guys were representing a film company they would try to present themselves in a more professional manner. Sunday was not nearly as bad as Saturday, though much colder. Here are a couple pics.
We managed to break both our sleds today.

honestly it was as good as my rmk 700 with a 136......i tried to get it stuck but it spins the track sooo fuckin fast. my gps said my max speed was 123 and my brothers gps said 119
You can count on those #'s falling down after you install your new track. It will be worth it, speed is nothing in Alaska snow conditions, you need paddle

That another "15" of track and also the paddles are considerbly larger and heavier. Speed is crap, build it to be a bad ass boondock sled. The pro X chassis is great for it. I wanted that same sled a couple years ago and I wanted to stretch it to a 136-2, just like you are doing. You will have a great sled when it is done. looks slick right now.

I came down on a hard tail landing, the result was a bent track adj. bolt. No biggie, hell it gives me an excuse to play in the garage. I am getting the rear raild powdercoated today, but I cant decide to stick with the all black rear skid or have everything black with a silver(chrome) rails? I guess I will decide on the drive to the p-coaters. Any sugestions?

I know alot of guys run a 19/39 with that track or 19/41. You will lose a little on the top but if your running a longtrack you shouldnt be to worried with the top end. A 19/39 will still give you good top end but the 41 will start to take away some.
Its all in how you ride. If you like boondockin or climbing then i would say go with the larger 41 or eve 42 bottom gear. If your into open meadows and trail and maybe lake i would saty with the 39. That sled had enough to pull any of these ratios. I am running a 19/45 on a short track so my top end is really not that good but i dont give a damn, all i want is 0-60. I have run this ratio for a few years and most of the guys i know all switch to it because they like the way it pulls, but some chaincases cant handle it, too big of bottom gear. ANyway, those are my suggestions.

do you know what size drives my sled has......if i ran that gear ratio i would only go 80mph but that would make it a beast with all that tourque......80mph if i had 9 tooth drivers

Im pretty sure your sled has 9 tooth drivers but dont quote me on that one.
As far as top end goes, yeah it wont be that god but i think around 80 or maybe little more would be about right. But if your riding a longtrack, how fast do you really intend on going. Youve rode long tracks so you know you will lose top end, but the bottom end is where its at anyway, gotta love the pull.
After 70-80 it all feels the same anyway.
