Well, I have driven (in my car) past a few of the trail heads, and some of the trails run along side the road, or close enough to see from the road, and I see that a few over-anxious people have already been out on the trails. Saw 3 sleds parked in front of a bar at the end of my street. People will just never realize that it is this kind of shit that gets our trails closed year after year. People so impatient that they cannot wait another 3 weeks for the trails to open. They have to go out now, when the trails are not ready, and tear up the grass of the land owners. Now it is melting and all there is is mud and sled marks. Heard some idiot also mowed down an 8 year old girl on his sled. Now the clubs have to listen to the complaints from land owners and hunters about thier grass being ripped up, or seeing sleds rip past while they are in thier tree stands. Riding season is just a few weeks away. Hold your horses, and wait with the rest of us, instead of fucking it up for the rest of us. I would hate to think that someone that belongs to this site would have the lack of respect of land owners, hunters, and the rest of their snowmobiling bretheren, to already be out. Hey, if your tuning up on your own private land, more power to you. But I am talking about the dickheads ripping down the public club funded trails that we all enjoy throughout the season. Have some respect. Our season is coming. Patience is a virtue.

Very , very well put.
Sorry to hear on the news tonight that an 8 year was killed. This poor guy on the sled will never be the same again. Every time he sees a young kid the memory will return. Not something any of us want to face. I pray that the child's family has the support they need to overcome this tragedy.
Whether he has ridden there or not, stick to the trails, wait for them to open. The trails are for the sport of snowmobiling and that's the only place they should be. I hope this never happens again, we should all know better.
