A hair dryer to heat the decals and peel them off. To remove the glue enamal reducer, prep-sol, WD40. Make sure to wipe clean with prep-sol or reducer, WD has silicone in it. Use a squirt bottle with water and a LITTLE dish soap, soak the surface. Start in the middle of the decal and squeegee the water outwards. I like to remove half of the paper backing and use a little masking tape to hold in place. have fun :div20: All the best, Sideways

I like to warm the decals with a hair dryer and then use wd-40 to spray into the decal as I am slowly peeling it off. Once you get them off you'll need to make sure the surface is clean and dry. Do one side at a time so you can use the other side as a reference to put the new decals on.
To place them use a spray bottle with warm water and a little dishsoap. Spray the surface of the hood and make sure the decal is thoroughly wetted down too. Slowly place the decal to try to minimize air bubbles. Because it is wet you should be able to move it around to get it just right. Use a flexible card (like a drivers license or better yet one of those little plastic squeegy that they use to spread auto body filler to work the water and any air bubbles out. If things aren't working out too well you can remove it, re-spray it and start over. Just be real careful and patient. When it's wet it will want to lift on any sharp bends on the hood but just keep working the squeegy to keep it flat. DO NOT pull the top layer off before it is fully dry. Good luck with it.

I apply decals and vinyl graphics to large charter buses for a living and never put them on wet - but if you are new to it, so be it. What i do is find and measure the spot you want the decal, make a hinge - this meaning take a peice of quarter inch masking tape and cross the middle of the decal up and down securing the decal - put two peices of tape on top of eachother. now peel back one side of the hinge all the way up to the tape, rip off the backing, pull decal tight above the surface and sqeegie it out from the middle to the end. now take off the tape and peel off backing of your other side up and repeat. i have been doing this for quite a few years now and its the best way to do it.

Thx guys seems intimidating. I can't seem to even get a tiny decal on without a bubble.

FWIW, I've been using Windex to float out the decal/vinyl. Get it close, smooth it out, and go find something else to do until the next day. Windex seems to evaporate out somehow, and never leaves any bubbles... I have a habit of messing with it - until I screw it up somehow. Learned I'm further ahead to just walk away, not worry about what it looks like right after applying.

Even if you do get some bubbles, they will cook out in the sunlight when the vinyl shinks itself up a bit.
