My friends cousin just shot a buck that they are measuring to be the new world record. they seen it 2 days ago and went back yesterday with 15 guys to push him out. If it does beat the world record (213 5/8) then it will be the second world record buck in a row that has come from Sask. as soon as i can get some pics i will post'em

They can only green score it for now, it has to dry out before it can get an offical score. I'm a scorer for the Northeast big bucks club. Can't wait to see it!

With 15 people how hard can it be...hunting is 3 or less, walking through the woods shooting is more than that, IMO.

Well, I believe the current world record (Hanson buck) was also taken on a deer drive. I don't see a problem with it. Lots of people use only that technique around here.
GET US SOME PICS please!!!

Wow that must be huge, but i dont agree with the 15 man drive. Thats not fair. Hunting to me is sitting and waiting, natural, not pushing the deer with 15 guys. Congrats to him though.

reguardless how many people it took they still had to be in the right area to push the buck out its not like hunting with dogs were you re just following their nose

Also illegal here in Maine but everyone still does it...not the way i prefer to hunt but to each his own.

I thought the Hanson buck was dethroned by the one from Michigan two years ago, shot by Mitch Rompola? I know there was some controversy about scoring it. Dunno what happened to it though, guess it was fake? Got pix of it somewhere... it was a wicked rack!!

The Rompola Buck was scored (216 5/8") and was X-Rayed and proven to be real. It would have been the world record, but it was never registered and entered into the B&C record books.

You are correct, he would not let anyone x-ray the rack. It was measured by certified personal, but did not go through the certifcation process. Mitch choose not to pursue it because of a "beef" he had with Boone and Crockett. I haven't seen it so I can't prove it to be real or fake. In "my" opinion it is real, most disagree.

My taxidermy said that the buck had wedge marks on each inside rack from a screw devise that made the rack that wide. I guess its used all the time from ranches? Just what he said but sounded like he knew what the hell was going on.

http://www.inmetrodetroit.com/Outdoors/Hunting/Rompola.htmThis is a link to the rompola buck story . Read the first article titled rompola gate. I believe that it will clearly state why the buck is believed to be a fake. Good article with very clear points. I believe for sure it is a fraud.

That's the biggest non-typical whitetail that's been shot, but B&C records has 2 bigger that were found and picked up.
The world record typical whitetail is still the Hanson buck from SK.
