hey guys, i was at the polaris dealer today and am seriously considering buying a switchback.
can any of you tell me about the reliability of these sleds?
hows the power?

been riding skidoos for a few years now and im sick of changing crank seals!

anyway the 600ho is really appealing to me.
so lets hear all the good and all the bad. :no_bashing:

New motor that seems to be working very well,

the 900 Switchback was very successful last year.

Nobody is goint to have much saddle time or experience for some time. If you want a 600HO Switchback, you better make your move soon!

The Polaris 600's are very reliable, proven since '00. Now just updated with more power to have the most in its class. Better jump on one while you can, they're going quick.

The new Polaris switchbacks are getting good reviews right now, time will tell. I've been a diehard Polaris man for years and have a 01 600 edge X 136 long track that goes like crazy, but last year I got a 600 sdi Renegade Doo that makes me very happy. Twice the MPG as the 600 Polaris and much more forgiving on your back. The new SB is claiming great ride and plenty of power, hope its true because
i'll always buy another Polaris. I like them both, the same but different. Go for it , Polaris has a very good rep.

 :beerchug:  :beerchug: For what it worth i had a 2001 polaris 600 xc that i put 11,000 miles on in four years.bougth a demo 2004 polaris 600 xc to ride last winter and put a little over 4000 miles on it. I think the pol 6 is one of the best engines around. For this comming year I have a new 2006 polaris switchback 600, can,t wait to ride it. Hope it treats me as good as my last two.

greetings, this is my first post. I bought the 900 switchback last year at the end of december 2004. I bought polaris for the reputation and great sleds. I had a couple of the recalls done before i took the sled home. I only blew one belt before 400 miles. Blew the motor before 2000 miles. Had motor fixed and many more recalls done. Now I just need snow to see If this machine will leave me stranded again. also, the side panels were replaced due to broken tabs. This is my first sled and I am not hard on the machine. When the sled was working good It rode great. Seemed to be the occasional problem with clutch not shifting but dealer said it was probably the motor mount problem. I know of some guys getting clutch replaced. All in all not a good experience with this sled and would not buy again. A buddy bought the 800 renegade and not a single problem.

all my polaris's have been great, i have 7000 miles on a 500 which stil has good compression. all my dads polaris's have been good to. i just bought a 99 SKS 700 so i hope it'll go 7000 miles. smiley-faces7.gif

All my Polaris's have been either good or great sleds. My last 2 have been great, especially my 04 700 S/B. Any sled any make can have problems and then the next may not. The cars and trucks you buy are the same way. Polaris has a strong reputation for durability and easier to work on when they need it.
