After a few hard landings last year my running board seem to be in pretty rough shape. They are bent down at the eges where the rail is. I was wondering if anybody has some sort of trick to get these straight again. Also is there any type of home made support brace that you can make to prevent this from happening again. Thanks.

You can sometimes get them straightened out by pounding a steel rod down thru the middle of the rolled edge. As for adding strength, try finding what they call, fish-bones, for your sled. They are a support that is bolted or riveted to your tunnel on the outside that helps with this very problem.

I put the polaris edge grips on my 99 xc700, they go on outside the rolled edge of the running boards and were a somewhat tight fit (punched them om from the rear with a hammer and a block of wood)
Those , together with the fishbone braces mentioned above should do the trick.
