Me and my dad went and picked up his new sled yesturday, a 06 yamaha VK professional 1000. He got it for towing stuff and grooming trails back and forth to the cabin. I must admit after putting a few miles on it, i m actually impressed with the power and feel of the sled. It handles great for its weight and the power is crazy compared to the old Vk's and other work sleds for that matter. It does have a down fall though, the weight, and it has a lot of it, but under power its not that bad, i just wouldnt want to get stuck.

Its geared and clutched crazy, it engages at 2400 rpm, you barely touch the gas and it will jump out from underneath you. Tons of low end tourque. I didnt have a chance to put alot of miles on it because i had to go back to school in fairbanks but my dad headed out to the cabin today and called and geave me a report. He said there was 30" of snow at the cabin door and the sled handled it like a champ, regardless of the load he was pulling. He could stop and go whenever he wanted and not spin, said it pulled like a freight train. He was so damn excited, it was like a little kid in a candy shop for the first time, it was funny to see my dad like this.

Ayway i could go on for days qwith everything he told me about it but here are some pics, later guys.

One of my friends went to big lake today...said it was pretty bumpy. He didn't make it out to the river though. Some of the other lakes had overflow on em though.

Cabin is out by the Peter's hills, 21 miles from the road. I guess the lakes out by our cabin have a lot of overflow too.
