i just bought a 95 xcr440 in non running condition. started to pull it apart, and noticed the crank on the stator side is bent badly, it also has 65 psi compression. my question is (im a cat man, dont know much about these) what motor can i put in this sled, sizes, years, and what items can i reuse, as far as exhaust, airbox, etc. i paid very little for it, so i can put a few bucks in it, but would like to know the most cost effective route. thanks for any assistance.

well, decided too look into this motor a bit more, found that someone had the flywheel on crooked, not lined up with the keyway. boogered up the inside of the flywheel a little, but was able to clean it up, tore it completly down, cylinders still had crosshatch, no scoring, rings wasted, stuck on pistons, clutch side crank seal wasted. all crank bearings ok, someone used silicone on cases and it was all over inside cases, so after cleaning everything, i put new pistons and rings in it,put in both new crank seals, put it all together, cleaned the carbs, started on the fourth pull, after running it through 2 heat cycles, it is running at 118 psi both cylinders. maybe a little low, but without having the cylinders checked or having it honed, i think it will be ok as a backup sled for around the house.
