anyone know if they are gonna have the east haven radar base open house again this year and if so does anyone know the date? I went last year and thought it was awsome, would like to go again. thanks guys.

That day was awesome... we really lucked out it was on a clear day.

could see for MILES. great day for riding, crisp air. hope to make it again. glad they don't lock it up completely and let us get up there that once/year to check it out.

it's quite a haul up that mountain. to me it would have been a great place to be stationed, but i bet those guys were bored out of their minds. :sleep3:

Is this radar station near trail 1?? What trail is accessing the station. I think this is near East Mountain , which is also incredible . View wise. Please let me know.

IT IS OFF OF TRAIL 1. ITS USUALLY BLOCKED WITH SNOWBANKS BUT WE KNOW HOW TO GET AROUND THEM WENT UP THERE TWICE LAST YEAR. ONE TIME WHEN IT WAS OPENED TO THE PUBLIC AND A FEW DAYS LATER BECAUSE ONE OF ARE FRIENDS DIDNT GET TO SEE IT WHEN IT WAS OPEN. BEAUTIFUL VIEW AND TONS OF SNOW. WHEN THEY HAD IT OPENED UP THE TRAIL WAS GROOMED FOR THE DAY BUT WHEN WE WENT UP ON THE FOLLOWING WEDNESDAY THERE WAS ABOUT ANOTHER 18 INCHES OF FRESH POWDER. FUN RIDE.

yeah it's on east mountain.


careful with the trespassing joe, they are kind enough to open the gates for us each year to check it out. we don't want to have this privilege taken away.
