:help: Anyone know if there is a good aftermarket airbox to get for my 01 zrt600. Will I need to re-jet . Will there be any chance of it running too lean. The rest of the motor is bone stock.

If your sled is bone stock you can put the powerbreather on there and run it with the caps off untill close to zero then run the caps on it when you get at zero or below for temps. Its great and no rejetting for you! It sucks rejetting the flat slide carbs on those.

Gut out your stock air box, thats what i did and i noticed a huge improvment, and i left the stock jetting in there too

Can you put the D&D power breather on a 1998 zrt 600? I have never seen one with it on. Would i need to rejett if i have v-force reeds? Any info would be appreciated. Thx!
Bonestock?
No you can't put the power breather on a 98 zrt 600. Different style air boxes. I think SLP still sell the high flow air boxes for the 95-98 zrt's. I got one on my 97 zrt 600, I felt an improvement with it, and yes you have to rejet. It comes with instructions and mounting brackets.

Thx for the reply

how do you "mean gut it out" the only thing i have in in there is the three tube thing that loosely resembles a velocity stack. do you mean cut the tool box out??
i guess i could cut everthing but the ecu holder off the cover. maybe stuff some pre-filter material in there????
tcatsteve
Gutting it would be removing the tubes, it makes a difference on 800 cc plus sled, I'm not sure about a stock 600, no downside though, they're designed to lower the intake noise.
cousin eddie
ok.....i removed the tubes and the plate that the tubes were clipped in to.. Flush.gif should i have just removed the tubes from the plate and reinstalled the plate, of was i correct in removing the plate and the tubes?????

You did it right!

also for the older style zrt sled you can put a air box mod from fett brothers they have a little window type air box mod for 20.00 that works fine, also my brother has a 600 zrt 99 with a hi flow air box from black magic and he put a alumium plate behind the air box to hold the coils and fuel pump
